Registration
What is included in registration?
Registration includes:
- Access to all plenary, concurrent, workshop, community & poster sessions
- Attendance to the welcome reception & banquet
- Coffee & snack breaks
- Admission to all keynote lectures
What's the offsite hotel fee?
The Asilomar Conference Center & Hotel require a $12/day service fee for anyone on their property. If an attendee is staying at the hotel, this is included in their room rate, if they are not, IZFS is collecting it on their behalf.
Meals are also included in the hotel reservation, so anyone staying offsite can purchase meals during registration.
Is there any financial assistance available?

Abstracts
I missed the abstract submission deadline, what now?
No late submissions will be accepted.
What are the abstract submission categories?
See the categories here
When will abstract decisions be finalized?
Notifications for abstracts will be sent by early November.
Program
When will the final program be available?
We anticipate the final program will be available Mid-November
We do not anticipate any changes to the layout of the program, but it is subject to change.
What networking events are available?
SCZI organizers wanted to provide ample time to network with your colleagues. All attendees are invited to attend the welcome reception and banquet. Poster sessions are also open to all attendees. Outside of night activities, there are breaks throughout the day for networking that can be found on the program.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
Is the Monterey Bay Aquarium excursion required?
The excursion is completely optional! There will be an on-site event that is free to any attendees who do not wish to attend the excursion.
How did you determine the cost of $80?
The cost of the excursion is adult admission ($59.99) and shuttle service to and from the aquarium ($20).
Can I attend the aquarium but not take the shuttle?
Yes! However, you will need to purchase your admission with the aquarium not IZFS. IZFS recommends you take the shuttle to help reduce our carbon footprint by carpooling. The Aquarium does not have it's own car parking facility.
Housing
How do I request a roommate?
If you wish to share your hotel room, that can be completed through the hotel reservation link or by calling the Asilomar Conference Grounds.
What's included in the hotel package?
- Discounted Group Room Rate
- Three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- Rates are based on a 4pm check in on arrival date (first meal is dinner) and an 11 am check out on departure date (last meal is lunch)
