9th Strategic Conference of Fish Investigators

Principal investigators are invited to attend the 9th Strategic Conference of Fish Investigators, hosted by the International Zebrafish Society (IZFS). The conference will be held February 4-8 at the National Taiwan University in Taipei. The meeting attendance is limited to 200 in order to enable meaningful discussions.

This conference is geared towards zebrafish and medaka principle investigators while welcoming researchers working on other fish models including but not limited to sticklebacks, cavefish, goldfish, and killifish. Plenary sessions will highlight cutting-edge research and technological advances, and there will be numerous concurrent sessions and workshops.

Abstracts
IZFS will begin accepting abstracts in late August/Early September. All abstracts are due on October 31, 2019.

Register by October 31, 2019 to receive the early-bird rate. IZFS members also receive a discounted rate.

Registration includes lunch on February 5, 6, and 7 and dinner on February 4, 5, and 7. Coffee will also be provided during coffee breaks and light snacks during poster sessions.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations of meeting registrations are subject to a $100 cancellation and processing fee. All cancellations and refund requests must be in writing and sent to info@izfs.org. If you have any questions, please contact the IZFS Business Office at (414) 918-9835 or info@izfs.org.

Two hotel room blocks at two hotels have been reserved for conference attendees. All rooms are first-come, first served, and requests must be submitted to the hotel by Friday, December 20, 2019. The room rate is not guaranteed after Friday December 20, 2019.

Travel Grants

Lower-Income Economy Travel Grants

To assist with travel expenses to attend the 2020 conference, IZFS will award travel grants to several applicants from lower income economies, as defined by the World Bank. Applications are due on Friday, September 13, 2019 and applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision in late September/early October.  Travel award recipients must submit an abstract and register for the meeting by October 31, 2019. 

If not selected for the Lower-Income Economy Travel Grant, applicants have the option to be included for travel grant consideration in the general travel grant pool. The number of general travel grants given are based on available funds and applicants will be notified of acceptance in January 2020.

Eligibility for Lower-Income Economy Travel Grants
Applicants must be an IZFS member from a country with a lower income economy. A list of lower income economy countries can be found at https://www.izfs.org/page/Countries. Grant recipients must also submit an abstract and register for the meeting by October 31, 2019.
