Call for Nominations:
Christine Beattie Award
Dear Zebrafish Community,
The International Zebrafish Society (IZFS) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for our junior member award – The Christine Beattie Award. IZFS members who are postdoctoral fellows in their first three years of training or graduate students who are about to start their third year (or greater) of graduate school are invited to self-nominate or be nominated by their advisors by May 14, 2026. Awardees will be recognized at the upcoming 13th European Zebrafish Meeting, July 7-11 and presented a $500 cash prize.
About the Award
The Christine Beattie Award recognizes one junior investigator each year who demonstrates excellence in the field of zebrafish research and exhibits promise as a future leader in the zebrafish field. This award further recognizes the commitment that Dr. Christine Beattie had to training the next generation.

Among the criteria that may be considered:
- Must have submitted an abstract for an oral or poster presentation for the European Zebrafish Meeting.
- Special consideration given to trainees doing research in developmental neurobiology and/or neuromuscular disease.

- Submitted abstract
- Letter of recommendation from current advisor
