Description & Details:The Department of Biology at Appalachian State University seeks to fill three tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to start in Fall 2024. These positions will enhance the department’s teaching and research mission in the Cell and Molecular Biology Concentration in the following areas: Developmental Biology. Area of research specialization is open. Teaching responsibilities include an upper-level course in Developmental Biology. Immunology. Area of research specialization is open. Teaching responsibilities include an upper-level course in Immunology. Molecular Biology. Area of research specialization is open. Teaching responsibilities include an upper-level course in Molecular Biology. Qualifications:The successful candidates should be enthusiastic about using research to enhance undergraduate and graduate education and are expected to develop a research program that is competitive for external funding. We strongly encourage applicants whose research and teaching interests complement or synergize with existing research programs and curricula within the department or cluster. The successful applicants will also contribute to departmental and university service that includes but is not limited to, undergraduate advising, curriculum development, and assessment.
