The Department of Biology and Toxicology at Ashland University ( seeks applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) for Cell, Molecular, or Developmental Biology beginning August 2021. This position reports directly to the Department Chair.

Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in Cell Biology and Molecular Biology for science majors. Candidates with appropriate expertise may also teach Anatomy and Physiology (human cadaver based) for nursing students along with other courses as needed that fall within the candidate's areas of expertise. The successful candidate will demonstrate an excellence in teaching and is expected to contribute to the life of the University.


PhD in Cell, Molecular, Developmental Biology or related fields is required. The candidate should have experience in teaching undergraduates and will be expected to maintain an active research program mentoring undergraduate research students as well as engage in service activities. Post-doctoral research experience is preferred. Research area is open but should involve eukaryotic cell or developmental biology and ideally will complement the Department’s programs in toxicology, forensic science, and/or environmental science.
