The advertised position in the Neuhauss Lab (https://www.mls.uzh.ch/en/research/neuhauss) at the University of Zurich, is part of a collaboration between groups at the ETHZ (Schneider), the Children’s Hospital Zurich (Baumgartner) and the Neuhauss group at the Science Faculty. The cooperative project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation Sinergia project Rational Small Molecule Inhibition of Dissemination (RaSMID) for pediatric brain tumors.
The project aims to identify innovative bioactive compounds against tumor growth and invasion in pediatric tumors and includes the toxicological assessment of in-silico selected compounds, establishing in vivo transplantation tumor models and sophisticated time-lapse imaging of transplanted tumor cells in zebrafish.
Zurich with its two major research universities (University of Zurich and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) is a vibrant international research hub providing state of the art research facilities and a fantastic training environment, not to mention the crystal clear lakes and nearby mountains.
Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, communicative, and willing to work in a collaborative environment. Strong expertise in cancer biology, zebrafish, and/or live imaging is required.
Salary support is available through the collaborative grant, but candidates are strongly encouraged to apply for individual fellowship
