Postdoctoral Fellow - Kostova Lab
Carnegie Institution for Science
|Type of Position:||Postdoctoral|
Description & Details
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kamena Kostova (https://kostovalab.org/) at the Carnegie Institution for Science, Department of Embryology in Baltimore, MD. We are interested in translation regulation during zebrafish development. We use cutting-edge technology, such as CRISPR-Cas9-mediated genome editing, ribosome profiling, RNA-Seq, and genome scale screens, to model and map the molecular pathways that ensure ribosome integrity and zebrafish. We are also interested in how defects in ribosome structure and function lead to complex disease with tissue-specific phenotypes, such as ribosomopathies.
Qualifications: An ideal candidate will be creative, industrious, have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working independently as well as collaboratively. A Ph.D. in a related field and fluency in spoken and written English is required for the position. Experience working with zebrafish and/or performing and analyzing ribosome profiling and RNA-Seq experiments are a plus, but not required.
To Apply: Please send a curriculum vitae, statement of research interest, and contact information for three references to firstname.lastname@example.org
