The Silberman Institute
The Harel Lab

Date Posted: 11/28/2022
City: Jerusalem
Country: Israel
Primary Category: Postdoc Position
Type of Position: Research

Description and Details:

The Harel lab is exploring fundamental questions in aging research, such as why is aging such a strong driver of disease, and what is the molecular basis behind the outstanding diversity in vertebrate lifespan (which can reach up to 1000-fold differences).

To this end, we develop state-of-the-art genome engineering for the naturally short-lived turquoise killifish model, and apply cutting-edge in-vivo imaging, single-cell and computational approaches, as well as disease modeling in mammalian models. Have a look at a video abstract of the lab and our recent studies.

We are currently looking for two talented and enthusiastic PhD students and postdocs to join us, as part of a new ERC project.

Highly motivated applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary aging research. You will work in a young and international lab, and can choose to focus on either computational or experimental approaches.

We are located at the beautiful Giv’at Ram campus of the Hebrew University. Ranked first among Israeli universities in international rankings, the Hebrew University is one of the best research universities worldwide. Have a look at our current lab members, and recent activities
