Job title: Postdoctoral Positions in Evolutionary Developmental Biology of Fish

Position Overview:

The Nakamura Lab (http://nakamuralab.com/) in the Department of Genetics at Rutgers University is seeking two postdoctoral researchers who investigate the genetic and developmental mechanisms underlying fish diversity and evolutionary novelties.

Our lab integrates functional genomics, genetics, embryology, and comparative anatomy across diverse vertebrate systems, including actinopterygians (e.g., spotted gar and zebrafish) and chondrichthyans (sharks and rays). We welcome applicants with strong backgrounds in developmental biology, evolutionary biology, genomics (wet or dry), genetics, or any other related fields. Experience in fish embryology, high-throughput sequencing, or bioinformatics is a plus but not required. The salary of these positions is subject to the NIH stipend levels.

Rutgers University is located in New Brunswick, NJ (45 minutes from NYC), within a vibrant research corridor offering extensive collaborative opportunities. The lab maintains active research connections with the American Museum of Natural History and the Marine Biological Laboratory.

Qualifications: 

We welcome applicants with strong backgrounds in developmental biology, evolutionary biology, genomics (wet or dry), genetics, or any other related fields. Experience in fish embryology, high-throughput sequencing, or bioinformatics is a plus but not required.
