The rates listed above are inclusive of the base rate ($130.00), tips to bell boy ($2.00 per guest), maid service ($1.75), occupancy tax (4.5%, $5.85), and VAT, (16%, 20.80). The breakfast rate is $32.72 per guest. Taxes may change according to Mexican laws.
Why It’s Important to Book in the IZFS Hotel Block
IZFS makes every effort to keep participants expenses as low as possible, working hard to negotiate the best hotel rates and to make the best use of registration dollars to keep the meeting affordable. IZFS does this in part by contracting a specific number of hotel rooms for its conference which allows the ability to negotiate expenses with the hotel. Those savings are passed down to the attendees. When you reserve a room with an official IZFS hotel block, you are helping to support the 2027 Strategic Conference of Zebrafish Investigators, as well as future meetings.
Key Dates
All hotel reservations must be made by December 7, 2026 or until the room block sells out. After December 7, 2026, any unreserved rooms in the IZFS housing block may be released back to the hotel for general sale and the reduced rate is no longer guaranteed.
Cancellation Policy
Guests will not be charged a cancellation fee if their cancellation is confirmed with the hotel before December 7, 2026.

ADO is the local intercity bus company in Mexico. There are buses every hour from the Cancun ADO Bus Station to the Merida Unica Bus Station for $44 one way.
Through grant support from the Company of Biologists, the International Zebrafish Society is offering a $50 stipend for attendees taking public transportation from the Cancun International Airport to the Hyatt Regency Merida.
