Marcy brings over 20 years of experience in planning and executing events, meetings and conferences to her role as Meeting Planner for IZFS. She specializes in site selection, logistics and meeting process management, vendor contracting, as well as comprehensive event design. Before working exclusively in the nonprofit sector, she owned a design and planning firm located in Washington, DC and CT for nearly 17 years, working on select social events, corporate events and conventions, and political and nonprofit galas. A few of her notable clients included President George W. Bush's campaign committee, President and Mrs. Clinton's American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, and JDRF. Marcy has also worked in destination management, catering sales, corporate account management and marketing.
Marcy is a member of Meeting Planners International (MPI) and is an International Special Event Society (ISES) award recipient for her work on large scale events in the Washington, DC area. Marcy has a BS degree from St. Lawrence University. Upon graduation, she worked for several years on reproductive research for an NIH contractor and Georgetown University.
Marcy lives in the Hartford, CT area with her husband Thom, two daughters Madeline and Tessa, and their puggle, Cricket. When she's not busy traveling to a meeting, you can find her practicing her culinary talents, leading her daughter's Girl Scout troop, watching her girls at their swim and gymnastics meets, or training for the 2018 Paris Marathon.
